    Travel early 2013

I have annual leave 17 Feb to 28 Mar '13.  Does anyone else have leave around those dates & where are they thinking of spending it?

You'll be lucky - isn't the world due to end on 21st December 2012?!

Assuming it doesn't - six weeks in a wet British winter, hmmm, South America somewhere would be very civilised.

Be careful, where you go in South America - that's the wet season in some parts...  How about Central America - dry, not too hot at altitude, very varied.

I have my cherished February half term - not decided yet, perhaps Honduras, perhaps Cadiz, perhaps...

California is usually good at that time as is traveling around the Canyons (Grand, Bryce, Zion, Monument Valley) possibility of snow in early March, but they keep the main roads clear so not a problem.
Depends what you want from your holiday I guess. Australia, New Zealand and South Africa are also good destinations then. Kids are back at school so it is quieter.

Since I retired I have always tried to spend the whole of February outside England - that's Brazil twice, New Zealand and the Cook Islands once, and Ethiopia three times.  I recommend them all, but Brazil must include carnaval - not sure when it is next year.

It's also the perfect time of year for India and southeast Asia generally. What kind of break are you looking for, Ellie?

I'm always away around that time of year, Asia or Latin America. Anywhere tropical or southern hemisphere is worth considering, but as already mentioned, tropical areas in the southern hemisphere are raining alot at that time, at least it's not cold, buy some rubber boots if you're going to walk alot.
