Can Sydney be done in a day??? Any suggestions on what to fit into it?

Personally I dont think its possible to see all the best bits in one day. I would definently recommend doing the harbor bridge climb - the views are amazing and a cruise around the harbour as well as going out to Manly Beach and just wandering around the city itself. They Botanic Gardens are also great to have a look at and it is worth doing the tour inside the opera house

No, we did 5 days and that was tough, if you have no choice though. I'd just do alot of walking - there are some good walking tours if you read some travel literatures. On reading this I would suggest, that Featherdale as I suggested in another post in not worth it as it would take a half day at least!

If you only have one day, you are missing out! But if you have to leave, spend the day ferry hopping to see the views of the harbour and head for the beaches.

I spent a week in sydney and it's not enough!! But if you've only got a day I would say do the bridgeclimb (expensive but worth it), a tour of the opera house and get on a boat at circular quay for views of the harbour.

If you do nothing else, climb the bridge!

One day just isn't enough, but c'est la vie I guess! Go to Bondi and do the coastal walk between Bondi beach and Coogee. Both these suburbs are great and will give you a better feel for the life of a sydney-sider than the centre probably will. In the centre, have a drink at the Opera bar down at the quay. Can't think of any better place to admire the opera house from.

I think this has taught me a lesson to make sure I check timings to ensure I don't end up with a DAY somewhere where I thought I was getting 3!!
