    For those birdwatchers out there....

.... this isn't a travel-related post, but I know that some people on here might be interested. There's a live webcam of a pair of peregrine falcons and their 3 chicks who are currently residents on the roof of the Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith, London. It's quite fascinating (if a bit gory!).

Ooh Sophie, you've come over all Lynda Snell on us (if you don't listen to the Archers, you won't get that reference, sorry). I had a look at the feed. It's wonderfully clear, isn't it? 10.00am here, so 5.30am your end. It looks like daylight, is that right? It's raining though :-(  Can't tell if I'm looking at Charlie or Tom, but I love the fact that I can see them at all. Nice one, S!

That's fantastic - peregrines have managed to adapt really well to cities. They can sometimes be seen roosting on top of the Tate Modern (formerly known as Bankside Power Station) on the South Bank. In a very similar vein, I've been following the peregrines nesting on Derby Cathedral (http://derbyperegrines.blogspot.co.uk/).

Thanks satkinson! I've only seen a Peregrine once (at Rainham Marshes) so this close up view is fab.

Oooh! Nice. Yes Liz, 5.30am is daylight now (summertime), though it feels more like February with the weather at the moment.
There was a young one that stuck around Kingston County Council building in the Autumn, but I haven't seen it recently.
