Wanderlust Travel Awards 2012: Meet the winners

2nd February 2012

The winners of the annual Wanderlust Travel Awards have been announced at the London Destinations travel show. Find out who hit the top spots in travel here

Where is this year's unmmissable destination? Which city topped your year in travel? Which airlines do you love and loathe? Find out what, where and who topped your year in travel here.

This year the Wanderlust Travel Awards featured 11 categories:

Top Country
Top Emerging Destinations
Top Tour Operator
Top Guidebook Series
Top TV/Radio Programme
Top Airline
Top UK Airport
Top Worldwide Airport
Top Equipment Brand
Top City
Top Website

The Wanderlust Readers' Travel Awards are based on your travel experiences from December 2010 to December 2011. In many categories you were asked to list up to four entries (eg countries visited) and score each one on its merits. The final positions were based on an average score for the entry (converted to a percentage) – so the results are based on satisfaction rather than the number of votes. In categories where no percentage is shown (eg travel gear; TV shows) the results were simply based on number of votes cast.

Find out who, what and where topped your year in travel here.

Wanderlust would like to thank our readers and contributors who took part in the questionnaire – it's your thoughts, opinions and travel experiences that make this Awards ceremony possible.
