Singapore wins Which? airline award
27th June 2008
Singapore Airlines has claimed yet another customer award after being voted best long-haul airline by readers of Which? magazine.
Singapore received a customer satisfaction score of 85% in a survey of 30,000 Which? readers, pipping India’s Jet Airways and Air New Zealand.
Singapore scooped the long-haul award in our own Wanderlust Travel Awards earlier this year.
Iberia and Air India came bottom in the long-haul category, with satisfaction scores of 27% and 32% respectively.
Tiny Bournemouth-based airline Palmair, which flies mainly to the Balearic and Canary islands, was voted best short-haul carrier.
Two German low-cost airlines, Germanwings and Air Berlin, came second and third.
Continuing its poor performance, Iberia was also in the bottom three short-haul airlines. Thomas Cook Airlines came bottom of this category.
Interestingly, the most famous in names in low-cost air travel didn’t score top marks when it came to value for money. easyJet and Ryanair both only scored four stars. easyJet came 13th out of 43 airlines with Ryanair 33rd.
