Rent the country of Liechtenstein for the night
22nd April 2011
Got a spare £40,000? That's all you'd need to rent the entire country of Liechtenstein for the night
It's that simple: you could rent the entire country of Liechtenstein, from as little as £40,000.
Airbnb, a website that helps travellers rent out accommodation from homeowners, has teamed up with Xnet, a Liechtenstein based events production and marketing firm, to offer those with a bit of extra cash the chance to kip in the country.
Visitors are offered a 'large proportion' of the accommodation in Liechtenstein, a country which barely covers 62 square miles and has a population of 33,000.
What with wine-tasting, local cuisine, skiing and hiking in the mountains, would more could you want?
However, you'll need to plan ahead, as Airbnb likes bookings to be made six months in advance and doesn't refund all your money for last-minute cancellations.
The travel company also offers travellers the chance to rent out six Austrian villages, three German towns, and one Swiss ski-resort village.
