Paul Goldstein completes 4th marathon in a week for tigers

20th April 2011

See the video! Wanderlust Contributing Editor Paul Goldstein finishes his fourth marathon in a week to raise money for Bengal Tigers

Award-winning photographer and regular Wanderlust blogger Paul Goldstein has finished his fourth marathon in a week in an attempt to raise money and awareness of the Bengal tiger.

Paul ran four marathons for the tigers, he ran all of them with a 9 ft, 30 lb tiger on his back. Everytime someone spots Paul, Exodus will donate £1 to the Worth More Alive campaign. Donations can be made via his Just Giving page here.

Paul ran the marathon in a very respectable 6 hours and 12 minutes. Post race, Paul says "Running the Marathon in a traditional vest and shorts will get you support but do it in a nine foot high endangered species and you start to grab a bit more attention!" He continues, "With £21,000 raised already for the Bengal Tiger, the agony I am going through now is worth it because the tiger is worth more alive"

On his marathon mission Paul said, “It’ll hurt, but nothing to what tigers are going through. In running this marathon, I am raising much-needed funds for the cause and encourage people to realise that we are in danger of losing this privilege completely.”

Tiger numbers are dwindling around 1,000 are believed to still be living in the wild. Poaching, development and loss of habitat have all contributed to the loss of tigers.
