Massive last-minute savings for travellers
25th August 2012
There are huge discounts to be had on last-minute trips this year as tour operators slash prices for customers
Various travel companies have cut their prices in an attempt to get people to make late bookings and head abroad.
Virgin has taken 10% off trips to Las Vegas and has reported that bookings have increased by 10% in the past week. British Airways has some of the biggest reductions on offer; flights to the USA and Canada have a 25% discount, and there's almost 40% off flights to the Caribbean.
The move comes as great news for anybody who has missed out on travelling abroad so far this year. A recent study conducted by Condor Ferries has suggested that one in five British people are yet to take their annual holiday. The recession has seen the number of people travelling abroad decrease and many have instead decided to stay at home.
The recent Olympic Games in London provided great entertainment for millions around the world. Companies could be hoping the recent price cuts will tempt them on a last minute escape.
