Divorce Hotel: a Netherlands get-away and a separation to boot

The bizarre-but-true company that offers a tailor-made divorce service for amicable couples while they take a trip to the Netherlands
It is an undeniable fact that divorce rates are going up. You're wondering what this has got to do with travel and news? Well if you're in the market for an amicable divorce and fancy a trip to the Netherlands then you're in luck.
Divorce Hotel is a Holland-based company offering a swift and stress-free divorce service for a flat fee giving a new meaning to the term 'quickie divorce'. The company is linked with six high-end hotels around the country where couples can combine paperwork with exploring the region, all in the space of a weekend.
Founder, Jim Halfens, came up with a way to profit from the sorry track record of our marital unions after witnessing a friend's messy divorce. He says: “All sorts of people come to us but the common factor is that they all want to do it in a positive way.”
Couples who want to end their marriages on friendly terms arrive together and leave single, often having completed the deal with a celebratory meal. Halfens hopes to offer this bizarre service in the UK from early next year.
