Air New Zealand's 30 year star-studded charity auction
20th May 2012
To mark 30 years of flights between London and Los Angeles, Air New Zealand is hosting a star-studded charity auction full of once-in-a-lifetime listings.
To celebrate 30 years of flying between London and Los Angeles, Air New Zealand is hosting a star-studded charity auction. The airline is aiming to raise at least £30,000 and will be donating the funds to UK charity, Phab.
30 amazing items and experiences are on offer, including the opportunity to have dinner with some New Zealand All Blacks in London, a signed Snow Patrol Guitar and the chance to star as your very own comic character with Justice League. However, our favourite item has to be a George Lucas signed light sabre!
All the money raised will be donated to Phab, a charity that encourages equality amongst those with and without disabilities through participation at activity centres and residential trips. The auction will help fund their 2012 Activity Week in the New Forest where the extra care and specialist tuition needed to enable a disabled child to benefit from this life-changing event costs Phab around £1000 each. The benefits are huge and give kids of all abilities a chance to experience activities ranging from zip wire to kayaking and rock climbing.
Air New Zealand General Manager, Europe Chris Myers says “we’ll be starting everything in the auction at 99p, which gives everyone a fair chance to get their hands on some cool things for a fantastic cause.” The auction will run on ebay until 27 May.
