Footage from the Awards ceremony
Tributes, travel experiences and a man in drag - catch up with what happened at this year's Wanderlust World Guide Awards ceremony
For those of you who couldn't make last night's World Guide Awards ceremony we've collected the best bits up and uploaded them... So you don't miss out on the action!
The event began with a bit of drama... finalist (and Gold Awards winner) Bruno Dawsan had missed his connecting flight in Abu Dhabi earlier that day and it was hit or miss whether he would make the event. After we had announced on the Wanderlust website that Bruno was set to make the event earlier in the week, it was a nail-biting wait.
The ceremony began with an introduction by Wanderlust editor Dan Linstead and a tribute to co-founder of Wanderlust Paul Morrison. You can watch this tribute and a run-down of previous winning guides below.
Next up was Simon Calder, travel editor at The Independent and all-round travel-guru. A fantastic presentation was made with a round-up of ridiculous travel blunders and moronic signs from around the world. Check it out below.
Then it was for the more serious stuff... Finalists, Kevin Albin, Gaetano Barone and Bruno Dawsan (who had arrived by this point!) all featured on a round-up film to show the audience more about who they are and why they love guiding. Take a look below to see more from this year's winning guides.
Missed the event? Then watch our video of the event below, including Bruno's dramatic entrance hot off the plane from Sri Lanka.
