Guide Award 2011 prize givers
We're very pleased to announce that this year the prizes for the three shortlisted guides will be provided by Swarovski and Nomad and Powertraveller
Wanderlust
We award three bursaries to the top three guides. The guide awarded the gold bursary will win £5,000 to be spent on worthwhile projects of their choosing or further education. The winners of the silver and bronze bursaries will receive £2,500 and £1,500 respectively. You can find out here what the winners of last year's competition have spent their bursaries on.
Swarovski
This year, Swarovski are kindly donating a pair of their 8 x 20 Traveler binoculars to each of the three winning guides. These extremely handy, watertight, pocket binoculars, which can be folded up to a width of only 5.9cm, have a non-slip coating with a shock-resistant rubber armouring.
Bright, crystal clear images are achieved, thanks to the most complex optical system ever to be used in compact binoculars.
In addition, the winning guide will also win a cleaning set. Check out Swarovski's website here.
Nomad
Our friends at Nomad have come up with the goods again. They're donating a great selection of gear:
– Gold: Carrock Jacket & Scorch Mid Loft Jacket
– Silver: Explorer trek Light Boots & 24/7 day pack
– Bronze: Explorer Trek Light boots
