Hilary Bradt receives the Top
Guidebook award from Wanderlust
co-founder/editor-in-chief Lyn Hughes
We’re currently at the Destinations travel show in London, where today we announced the winners of our annual Travel Awards, as voted by you, our readers.
There were some surprise results this year. Bradt scooped the Top Guidebook award for the first time by the narrowest of margins. Founder Hilary Bradt told us: “I’m very surprised but obviously I am delighted”.
And Santiago de Compostela in Spain grabbed runner-up spot in the Top City category.
We gave a Special Award to wildlife photographer and presenter of the BBC Wildlife Diary series Jonathan Scott for his efforts in promoting conservation and travel.
Here are some of the winners:
Top Country – New Zealand
Top City – Luang Prabang
Top Guidebook – Bradt
Top TV Programme – Tribe
Special Award – Jonathan Scott
